Elkor releases FREE Web Server for WattsOn Power Transducer

London, Ontario - January 12, 2010 - Elkor Technologies Inc. has recently released a FREE software utility to facilitate easier data access to its popular WattsOn Power Meter/Transducer.  This small software application runs on a local PC, and may be used to communicate with a WattsOn unit over RS-485 Modbus RTU or Modbus/TCP.  The software may then present the data on a dynamic web page.  The data is simultaneously available in XML format for easy incorporation in other systems and/or web pages.

The software is available for immediate download from the WattsOn Product page HERE.

New Product Announcement: ETMBTCP

London, Ontario - August  13, 2009 - Elkor Technologies Inc. announces a new accessory product to its Power and Current monitoring products.  Thet ETMBTCP is a RS-485 Modbus/RTU to Modbus/TCP bridge.  This product may be used with the WattsOn, ETA3.RTU and any other third-party RS-485 serial Modbus slave or master (in ASCII or RTU mode).  This allows for easy interfacing to new ethernet installations with existing serial equipment.  The ETMBTCP is available immediately from Elkor Technologies Inc.

New Product Announcement: WattsOn-DISP

London, Ontario - September 8, 2008 - Elkor Technologies Inc. is pleased to announce a new accessory to the WattsOn product family.  The WattsOn-DISP fills the need for a miniature local display.  Used in conjunction with the WattsOn-1100, the DISP offers a convenient method to display any two measured parameters, while still allowing access to the RS-485 communication port.  The DISP features a large, easy to read font and the ability to customize the display parameters by simply writing to the WattsOn meter.

The WattsOn-DISP is available for purchase immediately.

New Product Announcement: MSCT6 & MS360

London, Ontario - May 6, 2008 - Elkor Technologies Inc. is pleased to announce some new additions to our Split Core current transformer offerings.  The MSCT6 adds a larger size to our MSCT lineup.  The larger opening (3.0" x 5.0") and higher maximum current rating (3000A) allows it to be used where the size restrictions of smaller CTs prevented their use.  The MSCT6 represents a significant cost savings to comparable 5A output CTs.

The MS360 features a 36.0mm (1.4") Wire window and a small form factor which enables it to fit where other, larger CTs could not.  In addition, it features superb accuracy and phase shift characteristics which lend it ideally to highly accurate power measurements.

With internal voltage limiting electronics, the MSCT6 and MS360 have safe outputs.  Both CTs may be used with the WattsOn Universal Power Transducer, the ETA3.ANL, ETA3.RTU and i-Snail-X.

These additional product offerings allow Elkor to address a wider variety of system installations and offer even more universal and cost effective solutions to complex power and current monitoring requirements.

WattsOn® added to Eligible System Performance Meters for California's PBI program

London, Ontario - January 2, 2008 - Elkor Technologies Inc. is proud to announce that its WattsOn® Universal Power Transducer has been recently added to the list of eligible system performance meters for use in California's Performance Based Incentive (PBI) program.  This allows Elkor's customers to use the WattsOn® to meter the energy production of their renewable energy systems and claim credits against their usage as stipulated by the California Public Utilities Commission.  The WattsOn® is capable of measuring both imported (consumed) and exported (generated) power and energy, and through the use of third party monitoring solutions can provide this data locally or via the internet.

"We are excited about this milestone, as it not only opens up new markets for our products, but  demonstrates Elkor's commitment to accuracy and the environment" commented Paul Korzycki, Director of Development.  "Not only did the WattsOn® meet the requirements of the California Solar Initiative, but we feel we have given systems installers an invaluable flexible tool to aid in electricity generation monitoring."

The list is maintained by the Consumer Energy Center of the California Energy Commission.

WattsOn® receives TUV Certification for ANSI C12.20 Class 0.2 Accuracy Performance

London, Ontario - December 12, 2008 - TUV Rheinland of North America has completed its testing of the WattsOn® Universal Power Transducer and issued a report specifying ANSI C12.20 Class 0.2 accuracy compliance.  The WattsOn® units tested include the industry standard 5A input version, as well as the MCTA and MCTB versions, utilizing Elkor's precision miniature current transformers.

"We are very proud to have third-party validation of the accuracy of our meter.  This verification goes to highlight our commitment to accuracy and demonstrate that we can offer a unique metering set." stated Paul Korzycki, Director of Development.

With this certification, Elkor Technologies can offer a power/energy metering solution that provides extremely high accuracy out of the box, without the need for expensive, and most often, less accurate current transformers.  It is important to know that many indirect meters are rated at an accuracy of the meter only, therefore the CT inaccuracy must be taken into account for an overall system.

New Product Announcement: i-Snail®-VC

London, Ontario - September 19, 2007 - Elkor Technologies Inc. is pleased to announce a new member of the i-Snail family of current sensors and transducers.  The i-Snail®-VC is a current transducer that outputs 0-5VDC that is linearly proportional to the AC current flowing through it.  Although functionally identical to the i-Snail-V, the -VC is housed in a different enclosure allowing installation directly on the wire.

"With continuously more DDC and PLC systems having analog inputs, it makes more sense to measure the current, rather than simply monitor its on/off status.  Valuable systems data can be obtained when looking at real current measurements." says Chris Korzycki, Managing Director.  The i-Snail®-VC is designed for ease of installation and high accuracy, while providing a lower cost alternative to the i-Snail-V.  By removing trim-pots and jumpers, Elkor is able to guarantee the high accuracy of the device while making install and maintenance easier.

The i-Snail-VC comes in 10A, 25A, 50A, and 100A ranges.
