The ETMBTCP module is ideal for bringing RS-485
Modbus devices onto an Ethernet network.
While designed as an accessory to the WattsOn meter, the ETMBTCP works with
any Modbus RS 485 device. It allows for communication between multiple
Modbus serial slaves, and multiple Modbus TCP master devices.
The ETMBTCP module is an Ethernet-to-RS-485
interface. It was designed specifically as a bridge for Modbus TCP/Modbus
RTU communications. Factory programmed, out of the box, the ETMBTCP works
with Elkor’s Modbus RTU (WattsOn, ETA3.RTU) devices to provide a means of
communication over Ethernet networks.
It may be field programmed for various other configurations, including
specific IP settings, Modbus serial master/slave mode, Modbus RTU/ASCII,
various baud rates and serial parameters. Programming is performed via a
simple text telnet interface. RS-485 data direction is handled by the unit,
and visual feedback of sent/received serial packets is shown via the
on-board LEDs.
The ETMBTCP supports DHCP and AUTOIP. A Windows® utility is available to
detect and configure the network parameters from a PC connected to the
network.
